Trosifol® SC Monolayer Acoustic PVB Interlayer Film is a high-performance laminated glass interlayer designed to deliver superior sound insulation in architectural glazing systems. Developed by Kuraray, it reduces airborne noise transmission while maintaining excellent optical clarity and safety performance. The interlayer provides strong adhesion to glass, excellent post-breakage behavior, UV resistance, and long-term durability. It is specifically engineered for use in environments where acoustic comfort is essential, such as residential buildings, commercial complexes, airports, hotels, hospitals, and urban infrastructure projects.

Spec & Technical Data

Trosifol® SC Monolayer Acoustic PVB is a safety-grade polyvinyl butyral interlayer available in 0.76 mm and 1.52 mm thicknesses. It features a density of 1.06 g/cm³, solar absorption of 19–21% depending on thickness, thermal conductivity of 0.20 W/mK, thermal expansion coefficient of 2.0 × 10⁻⁴ 1/K, and specific heat capacity of 1.9 J/g·K. It delivers tensile strength greater than 13 N/mm² (EN ISO 527) and elongation at break above 300%, ensuring flexibility and impact resistance. The interlayer provides excellent acoustic performance with sound reduction of approximately 35–47 dB (Rw) depending on glass build-up, high optical clarity, and P1A ball drop safety rating. It is UV-stabilized and suitable for laminated safety glass in demanding acoustic environments.
