Two-way pressure regulation valve designed for insulated glass units (IGUs) to help compensate for pressure variations caused by temperature and altitude changes. It improves IGU reliability by reducing stress on the glass and sealant system while maintaining pressure balance within the unit.
The Dorman® Two-Way IG Pressure Regulation Valve is designed to protect insulated glass units from pressure fluctuations caused by temperature and atmospheric changes. Under normal conditions the valve remains closed, preserving the integrity of the sealed unit. When pressure differences exceed the specified opening threshold, the valve automatically allows air transfer to reduce stress on the glass and sealant system, improving long-term durability and performance.
Engineered for use in insulated glass units, the Dorman® Two-Way Valve provides controlled pressure equalization through an automatic spring-operated mechanism. The valve opens at approximately 80 ±10 mbar pressure differential and reseals when pressure returns to approximately 25 mbar. Compatible with 6.5 mm and 8.0 mm spacer systems, it helps prevent glass cracking, seal failure, and excessive internal stress caused by environmental pressure variations.
