Fenzi® Butylver TPS 2020 Thermoplastic Spacer

Model Number: 100100642

Fenzi Butylver TPS 2020 Thermoplastic Spacer System is a high-performance warm-edge spacer solution developed for the automated production of insulating glass units (IGU). Based on advanced polyisobutylene (PIB) technology, it combines the functions of spacer, primary sealant, and integrated desiccant into a single thermoplastic material. Designed for use in modern TPS application systems, Butylver TPS 2020 delivers excellent thermal insulation, extremely low moisture and gas permeability, and long-term durability. Its warm-edge technology helps improve the overall energy efficiency of insulating glass units by reducing thermal bridging and enhancing edge insulation performance, making it an ideal choice for high-performance architectural glazing applications.

Description

Fenzi® Butylver TPS 2020 is a high-performance thermoplastic spacer with integrated desiccant, developed for the automated production of insulating glass units (IGU). It combines the functions of a spacer, primary sealant, and desiccant in a single material, providing an efficient solution for IGU edge construction. Its warm-edge technology helps improve thermal insulation and reduce thermal bridging, while its low moisture and gas permeability supports the long-term performance of insulating glass units. Butylver TPS 2020 is suitable for modern automatic TPS extrusion systems and high-performance architectural glazing applications.

Spec & Technical Data

Fenzi® Butylver TPS 2020 is a black, one-part thermoplastic material based on polyisobutylene (PIB) with reactive groups and integrated desiccant. It has a density of 1.23 ± 0.03 g/cm³ at 20°C, a melt volume flow rate of 12–20 cm³/10 min at 130°C and 10 kg, and a torque of 250–350 mN·m at 80°C. Moisture adsorption capacity is 2.5%, with moisture vapour transmission below 0.1 g/m²·day and gas permeation below 0.03 g/m²·day. Thermal conductivity is 0.33 W/m·K. The application temperature is 110°C to 140°C, service temperature is -40°C to +80°C, and the recommended ambient temperature is above 18°C. The product is applied using automatic TPS extrusion equipment, requires clean, dry, oil-free and dust-free surfaces, and is supplied in 215 kg drums with a 12-month shelf life when stored at +10°C to +30°C.
