Description

Dorman® GP818 is a general-purpose acetoxy cure silicone sealant designed for reliable sealing and glazing applications. It forms a strong, flexible, and waterproof rubber seal that adheres excellently to glass, aluminum, ceramic, and other non-porous building materials. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, it delivers long-lasting durability, weather resistance, and stable performance in construction and glazing joints.

Spec & Technical Data

Dorman® GP818 is a one-component silicone sealant based on an acetoxy curing system, which cures by moisture in the air while releasing acetic acid. It has a smooth paste appearance with a specific gravity of 0.96 g/cm³ and offers excellent extrusion performance at approximately 880 ml/min (ASTM C603). The sealant provides a tack-free time of about 7 minutes (ASTM C679), with a curing speed of 2–4 mm per day and a working time of around 5 minutes. It is applied at temperatures between +4°C and +40°C and fully cures within 7–14 days. Once cured, it delivers a Shore A hardness of 17 (ASTM D2240), tensile strength of 0.50 MPa (ASTM D412), and elongation at break of 500%, with temperature resistance ranging from -30°C to +90°C. It ensures excellent adhesion, high elasticity, UV resistance, and long-term durability in general construction sealing applications.
